Choose the Spotify bridge your audio stack deserves.

Spotycast turns Spotify playback into a stable Icecast / HTTP stream endpoint that Roon, LMS, Volumio, moOde, VLC and legacy Linux streamers can consume like a radio source.

Start free when you need a dependable Spotify-to-Icecast bridge. Upgrade to Premium when you want the advanced path, richer profiles, and a more lossless-oriented workflow for demanding network-audio systems.

Choose the edition that matches your goal. Free is for restoring a stable Spotify endpoint. Premium is for users who want the more advanced audio path and a higher-end workflow.

Start here

Spotycast Free

Free standard bridge path

The practical baseline: build a stable Spotify-to-Icecast endpoint and prove that your player stack can consume it reliably.

  • spotifyd-based Spotify Connect path
  • Standard lossy stream, up to 320 kbps where available
  • Icecast / HTTP endpoint for Roon, LMS, Volumio, moOde and VLC
  • Good for proof of concept, daily use and compatibility testing
  • No Premium installation key required
Best choice if your first goal is: “I need Spotify to appear as one stable HTTP stream my players can open.”

Advanced path

Spotycast Premium

$9.99 lifetime license

The higher-end Spotycast path for users who want richer stream profiles, a more capable workflow, and a lossless-oriented Spotify setup where the upstream Spotify client makes it available. One lifetime license, one small upgrade for the audio stack you already own.

  • Advanced playback path based on the official Spotify Linux client
  • More lossless-oriented workflow when Spotify-side conditions allow it
  • Better fit for demanding Roon, Volumio, LMS and legacy streamer setups
  • Richer endpoint strategy and advanced stream profiles
  • Premium installation key and customer access
Best choice if your goal is: “I want the most capable Spotycast path for a serious network-audio setup.”
Important: Spotycast does not magically turn a lossy upstream source into real lossless audio. Premium is a lossless-oriented path, not a promise that every Spotify account, region, client state or device path will always expose lossless.

Which edition should you choose?

The decision is simple: choose Free to validate the endpoint model. Choose Premium when the endpoint model works for you and you want the most advanced Spotycast path.

Need Recommended edition Why
Restore a stable Spotify endpoint for Roon, LMS, Volumio or moOde Free Free already gives you the core Spotify-to-Icecast bridge.
Validate your Docker, Debian, Icecast and player setup Free Start with the simplest path before changing the audio profile.
Use Volumio with a more lossless-oriented Spotify workflow Premium Premium moves the Spotify playback path upstream and lets Volumio consume a standard HTTP stream.
Run a higher-end Roon-adjacent or legacy streamer setup Premium Premium is designed for users who care about the advanced audio path and richer stream strategy.
Replace fragile native Spotify Connect behavior with a private LAN endpoint Free or Premium Both editions keep the same core idea: one reusable stream URL on your network.

What happens after purchase?

Premium is designed to stay practical: you buy access, retrieve your Premium key, run the Premium installer, then complete the first-time Spotify client setup inside the container.

Step 1 Buy Premium Complete checkout and keep the purchase email or receipt.
Step 2 Retrieve your key Use the Premium receipt or customer access page to find your installation key.
Step 3 Run the installer Launch the Premium path from your Spotycast container on a compatible Debian / Docker host.
Step 4 Add the stream URL Use the Icecast mountpoint in Roon, LMS, Volumio, moOde or another HTTP player.
Keep your Premium installation key private. Do not post it in GitHub issues, screenshots, forum posts or public support threads.

Before you buy Premium

Spotycast is built for technically comfortable users. You do not need to be a Linux expert, but you should be able to run a headless host, deploy a Docker container, and add a network stream URL to your player.

You need a host

A Debian VM, NAS, Proxmox container, mini PC or Linux server on your LAN.

You need Docker comfort

You should be able to deploy a container and run the installer commands described in the guide.

You need LAN access

Your player must be able to reach the Spotycast host and open the Icecast stream URL.

Spotycast is not a hosted streaming service, not a public rebroadcast platform, and not a native Spotify browser inside Roon or Volumio. It is a self-hosted bridge that gives your players a stable HTTP stream endpoint.

Where Spotycast fits

Spotycast is useful when your audio player can consume an HTTP stream, but native Spotify integration is broken, unsupported, unreliable or limited.

Roon

Add the Spotycast URL as a live radio source and keep Spotify outside Roon’s native catalog model.

Volumio

Use Volumio as the playback endpoint while Spotycast handles the Spotify-to-stream path upstream.

LMS / Lyrion

Use the Icecast endpoint like a network radio URL when Spotify Connect paths become unreliable.

moOde

Keep a legacy Linux player useful by feeding it a normal HTTP audio stream.

VLC / ffplay

Use direct playback tools as a clean diagnostic baseline before blaming your final player.

Legacy streamers

Reuse hardware that still plays HTTP streams even when native Spotify integration is gone or unreliable.

What Spotycast is not

Clear expectations create happier users. Spotycast is powerful because it is focused.

  • It is not a public internet radio rebroadcast service.
  • It is not a way to sell, share, or redistribute Spotify content publicly.
  • It is not a native Spotify catalog browser inside Roon, Volumio or LMS.
  • It does not bypass Spotify account requirements or regional availability.
  • It does not turn a lossy source into true lossless audio.
  • It does not remove the need for a Linux / Docker host on your LAN.
The promise is narrower and more useful: a dependable Spotify-to-Icecast bridge for private network-audio setups.

Buying questions

Should I try Free before Premium?

Yes. Free is the best way to validate your Docker host, network path, Icecast endpoint and final player before upgrading.

Does Premium guarantee Spotify Lossless everywhere?

No. Premium is a lossless-oriented path. The final result still depends on the upstream Spotify client, account, region and available playback quality.

Can I use Spotycast with Volumio?

Yes. Volumio can consume the Spotycast stream as a web radio or network stream URL, while Spotycast handles Spotify upstream.

Can I reinstall Premium?

Premium access depends on your installation key and customer access information. Keep your receipt and key private for future reinstall or support needs.

Bring back the radio endpoint your audio stack was missing.

Spotycast is for people who already have good players, good DACs, and a serious local network-audio setup. It gives that setup a simple thing Spotify integrations often fail to provide: one stable, reusable HTTP stream URL.
